Huda has demolished 16 structures to connect a road linking NH-8 and Dwarka Expressway. The road is under construction, and once this is complete, it will help people commence to the IGI Airport through Dwarka Expressway seamlessly. Around 16 structures between Captain Umang and Basai Chowk were demolished. The Huda team had faced the resistance of the public while demolishing the structures. A police team was forced to bring the situation under control. The demolition task was carried out under the presence of police.

The proposed road has a 3.3 Km. long stretch that falls within its length. This will connect the airport in Delhi to the Dwarka Expressway. The obstructions on the path included 33 properties, among which one was a pond. Out of these, 16 structures were double storeyed buildings. These were demolished and the remaining 17 structures have not been razed as they have obtained a stay from the Court. During the demolition, around 250 cops were present at the site, along with 12 officials of the senior administration.

Prior to this, efforts had been carried out to demolish the properties. However, as a result of a strong resistance from the local people, the work had to be stopped. Although around 200 cops were present at the spot, the proceedings could not be carried out during the previous attempt. A gaushala lies in the alignment of the proposed road, which needs to be demolished. Only a wall had been demolished in the previous attempt, before the locals prevented them from demolishing the further. It was only after the police made an organized effort that the complete demolition work could be carried out.

The project is being jointly handled by NHAI and GMDA. It will include two flyovers. Once completed, the project will reduce the time to travel between the Dwarka Expressway and the airport by 20 minutes. The new road itself will be a highway and will connect two existing highways, the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway and the Dwarka Expressway. It is estimated that the project will be complete by September, 2019. The estimated cost of developing the new road is around INR 80.75 crore. The proposed road will be 5.5 Kms. in length and 60 Mts. wide.

Once the road is completed, the real estate industry in the area will get a boost. Homebuyers are looking for apartments close to the important roads, so that they can get across to the important areas, including the airport in quick time. Investors should keep an eye on the upcoming projects in the area. Homeowners can also visit the reputed property websites in India to check out the projects close to the highway. The property prices will be rising in the area, once the new road opens up Investors buying these properties now will reap good returns in future.
