With the demand for NRI properties increasing in India, it is necessary to keep the system organized and transparent. The day-long workshop will have representatives from all the segments of people in the industry. This workshop will focus to help the real estate industry in the northern states foster a better growth. The participants will come from the states of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand. Issues related to housing laws will be a major area of discussion in this workshop.

The workshop will make it simpler to implement the norms of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act. It was enacted in 2016 and a number of new rules and regulations have been implemented in the industry. This provides the states with the power to appoint regulatory authorities and notify their respective norms. With the enactment of these norms, it will be possible for the homeowners to raise the issues in case they find it difficult to deal with corrupt developers. At times, delays in delivering the apartments lead to hassles for the buyers. They can now reach out to the regulatory body to address these issues. The Parliament had enacted the issue two years back. The authority wants all the stakeholders, including the homebuyers, banks and builders issues pertaining to the implementation of the new set of rules. People interested in buying NRI property in India can go for the latest projects that are being developed by the reputed real estate companies.

Earlier, the Ministry of Housing had organized similar conferences in Chennai. It is necessary to carry out fruitful discussion between the stakeholders, as it will help to make the transactions faster and transparent. The economic cycle will also become shorter. As of now, 22 union territories and states have got their web portals functional under the law. A statistic reveals that around 32,923 real estate projects have got registered till date, under the new norms in the country.
